Spelling of the museums’ names

We wish for the media to pay attention to the correct spelling of the names of the museums.

  • The Lahti City Museums is the City Museum in Lahti and the museum with regional responsibility in Päijät-Häme. The Lahti Museums comprise the Ski Museum, the Lahti Historical Museum, the Lahti Museum of Visual Arts Malva and Radio and TV Museum Mastola.

  • The name of the Ski Museum does not include the prefix “Lahti”. If you want to mention the location of the museum, please make sure that you still capitalise the words Ski Museum.

  • The name of the museum includes the prefix “Lahti”. The correct spelling is Lahti Historical Museum.

  • Lahti Museum of Visual Arts Malva was formed when the Lahti Art Museum and Poster Museum were merged.

    If necessary, you can also refer to the museum by only using the name Malva.

  • If necessary, you can also refer to the museum by only using the name Mastola. Please make sure you capitalise TV and don’t use hyphens.
